Architects &Designers

Built to the documentation.

Level 5 finishes, 10mm negative details, square set and curved work, priced from your drawings and built as drawn.

The details we build

  • Two plaster planes meeting at a corner, one hard line running dead straight down the junction

    10mm Negative Details

Shadow lines set out from your dimensions and kept dead straight through every coat, so the gap reads as one continuous black line.

  • Three stopped planes meeting at one corner, every joint flushed flat and unbroken

    Square Set & Curved Work

Square set junctions, curved walls, curved square set and radiused ceilings, formed and finished by hand. A curve has no corner to hide a junction in.

  • Low hard light raking the length of a stopped wall, the plane reading flat

    Level 5 Skim

A full skim over the whole surface for critical light, gloss and deep colours. Specified surface by surface, never assumed across a whole job.

  • A ceiling of fire-rated pink board with the joints stopped out in white, sun on the slab below

    Fire-Rated & Specialist Systems

Fyreline and specified systems fixed to the manufacturer's documentation, with the substitutions nobody wants at inspection time simply not made.

The drawings are the job.

Priced from the documentation

We price from the drawings and name the finish level for every surface. If a detail cannot be built as drawn, you hear before we start.

Set out from the drawings

Shadow gaps, junctions and radii are set out from the drawings and checked back against them before any compound goes on.

How the set runs the job

  1. Price off the set

Scope, finish level and detail read surface by surface from the drawings and itemised, so a change is a conversation at quote stage rather than a variation at the end.

  2. Query before we improvise

Queries go back at pricing, with the constraint named and the way through it costed, so nothing is resolved on the day by whoever is holding the trowel.

  3. Set out to the drawings

Shadow gaps, square set and radii laid out from your dimensions and checked against the set before the first coat, because a negative detail cannot be corrected once it is buried.

  4. Sign off in raking light

A hard light down every surface at the angle a critical-light job will actually be seen in, before the painter is called in behind us.
